2119 - Good evening. Nothing very unusual going on. Just normal goo - busy with <insert thing here>, no big surprise there. I finally got around to sending out an email with the new cell phone number to the three or five people who might have both had and wanted it. The iPhone is a nice little widget, and it'll be nicer once the VPN stuff we're working on ... works. I made a configuration error Saturday night, which is one explanation for our lack of success to date. Maybe we'll have better luck with that tomorrow, after pushing a change tonight.
I'm a little congested and such - for that to break past my allergy meds says that I just might have a slight headcold. But no tickles in the throat, none of the usual harbingers of doom/illness/ebola. On the good news front, I had a nice chat with Trudy this evening, and business is picking up again. Nothing else of note to report. Ciao!

1151 - Good morning. A long week with full days and full evenings, but generally nothing that is of deep interest, or I'd have made time to say so here. Sometimes what I post here is much like the "Had a burger" style of stuff that you can find in someone's Twitter stream. But Life is. Today, life is exceedingly unmotivated. I was out of bed at the crack of 0830, just in time to take the dogs downstairs so that Molly could puke three times between the bottom of the stairs and the back door, taking out two area rugs on her way. I just dragged those outside, draped them and hosed them down. It's hot enough that they'll dry by evening. I have to vacuum in the dining room before the furniture arrives this afternoon. And while bathrooms, floors, and other things call out for cleaning, I find myself unfilled with energy. We'll see how it goes. Ciao!

Dining table delivered |
1535 - Good afternoon. The dining table delivery yesterday was at about 1500. The load-in took about 15 minutes. We're quite happy with it. You can see it in place in the snapshot at right. In other news, I appear to have a summer cold. I'm whacking at it with assorted vitamins, zinc lozenges, Zicam, plus clearing the sinuses and upper lungs cleaning the bathrooms with assorted products. I ended up just being a waste of space yesterday &mdash I got absolutely nothing done on any front whatsoever. Today, at least, besides the cleaning, we got the shopping done, and I drew in a bit of rain, lightning, and thunder by applying water to the front garden. Now I'm about through.
Not before Sunday's duty, though. Today there are but three to report as having made their ultimate sacrifice on behalf of our country. I'll admit I'm still waiting for a week to say "there were none," and there's no consolation for the families and units of the three warriors who died in service this week. Our condolences.

Visit the rest of the DAYNOTES GANG, a collection of bright minds and sharp wits. Really, I don't know why they tolerate me <grin>. My personal inspiration for these pages is Dr. Jerry Pournelle. I am also indebted to Bob Thompson and Tom Syroid for their patience, guidance and feedback. Of course, I am sustained by and beholden to my lovely wife, Marcia. You can find her online too, at http://www.dutchgirl.net/. Thanks for dropping by.
