2059 - Hey! Sucks to be Iranian today, eh? Seriously, there are people (at major peering ISPs, at Twitter, TOR, and too many others to mention) making major efforts to support the protestor's efforts to be heard about how they feel their election, their government, their nation has been stolen from them. Rock on, folks!
Just a Monday for me, I'm afraid. I seem to be about 90% recovered from $RHINOVIRUS. While Marcia's now come down with it, she seems to have a much milder iteration than I experienced. Now on to the conferences in my summer courses.

2229 - School work eats most of my evening. Yesterday I mowed. I would have mowed at least one high pass on the back meadow (nee lawn) this afternoon ... except that it was raining again. And there's only two days in the next ten that don't hold out the possibility of more. We're having a very [British|Seattle] summer here, so far. And it isn't even summer yet. Ciao!

1626 - Thursday was schoolwork. Last night I weeded some of the veg beds, and did the first-pass cut on the back meadow. I was going to rake that out and cut it again this morning ... but it rained another half an inch this AM. Argh! At least I'm not Mr. Sweatyman as a result. Excitingly, more rain may swing through tonight. The meter for the month stands at 6.60". We're pretty darn close to four months worth of rain in under two. I rewired some stuff in the entertainment center, and picked up some Quikrete for doing some repairs on the front steps. But that's for tomorrow morning, if the weather suits. Now, back to classes.

1613 - Happy Father's Day. Especially to my pops. Today: Shopping, concrete work in front, mowed the front yard once, mowed the back yard twice, weeded the pepper bed by digging up the peppers and using the rototiller to turn the whole bed, then did light hand weeding on a couple of the other beds. V.tired now. But it's time for a haircut, then I'm "making" pizza for Linda and Marcia tonight, as we celebrate Linda's birthday.
Happy Father's Day, also, to all the fathers of those in Service, as well as those who are serving, with their families far away. For the reported casualties this week, our condolences to the families and units of the fallen.

Visit the rest of the DAYNOTES GANG, a collection of bright minds and sharp wits. Really, I don't know why they tolerate me <grin>. My personal inspiration for these pages is Dr. Jerry Pournelle. I am also indebted to Bob Thompson and Tom Syroid for their patience, guidance and feedback. Of course, I am sustained by and beholden to my lovely wife, Marcia. You can find her online too, at http://www.dutchgirl.net/. Thanks for dropping by.
