2227 - Makes me sad, really. 18 months with this MacBook Pro battery and it's dying. Not much else to say. G'night.

1935 - Lessig says stuff worth thinking about. Agree or disagree (or both), but think about it. That is all.

2229 - This evening was eaten by a visit from a window salesman. I mentioned the other day that someday we'd be doing that. When the neighborhood pre-sales walker came around this afternoon, Marcia set up the visit. Blows my mind that they can knock more than 25% off the price if we sign right now, and keep a straight face. No, we didn't sign.

Unwinding, and listening now to Radio Paradise. Good stuff - recent tracks include Warren Zevon, Rickie Lee Jones, Band of Horses, The Shins ... on and on. Very eclectic and awesome music selection, recommended. Soon, I'll mumble something about Amarok, if my memory doesn't continue to fail me. Ciao!

2221 - One class's work for the week is done: participation, exercise and quiz. The writing class still requires some more attention before COB tomorrow evening - I've got to finish up the three-page "Planning Proposal" that I've been poking at for the last two weeks. I have been indecisive about it merely because it sets the topic and tone for all the remaining assignments in the course. But as it's down to brass tacks, I'll make the call and write up the most complete idea at hand. Frankly, I can write to just about any topic, but I'd rather challenge myself than pick something that I do daily anyway.

So, most of tomorrow goes to writing ... right after the morning's work is done. Some outside-of-business hours testing is scheduled, and I'm part of the support team. So, the alarm is set for 0630, and I think I'll call it a day. Ciao!

2150 - On the good news side, I had a very productive day. The week's schoolwork is done, and the morning's remote work came off alright, too. But midday, Marcia apparently blew out her right knee ... just standing up. Sigh. Poor baby. Time to put a wrap on this day. Ciao!

March 7, 2010

2214 - A moderately productive day. Tomorrow is twisting in the wind, as we don't know what sort of availability the orthopaedist and the MRI place will have for checking out Marcia's knee. Other than that, I have nothing useful or interesting to impart today, but there's one task remaining...

Eight men were reported by DoD this week as having given their lives for their country. Our condolences to the families and units of the fallen.

Visit the rest of the DAYNOTES GANG, a collection of bright minds and sharp wits. Really, I don't know why they tolerate me <grin>. My personal inspiration for these pages is Dr. Jerry Pournelle. I am also indebted to Bob Thompson and Tom Syroid for their patience, guidance and feedback. Of course, I am sustained by and beholden to my lovely wife, Marcia. You can find her online too, at http://www.dutchgirl.net/. Thanks for dropping by.
