1903 - If you missed Sunday's post, we've got a new family member: Lexi. It's going to be a rough road for a little while - it now appears that she's positive for heartworm. That can be dealt with, but a couple of months of medication, and a calmer short-term lifestyle are in her future. The vet will help us achieve that. So, first visit to our vet tomorrow, and we'll schedule out the spaying appointment, and the heartworm treatments. Probably retest for heartworm, too, just in case of mis-diagnosis. Tonight: schoolwork. A busy week for that, actually. I've got the big paper of the semester due on Saturday night. Boy, do I know how to live, or what? Ciao!

2212 - New dog == tiring ... more for Marcia than for me, since she has Lexi all day. The housetraining is proceeding apace. I think we did things outside more often than inside today, so that's progress. We had a round of fun run around chase the ball, tear around the back yard play this evening, too. But I'm also trying to get tomorrow's paper done. At this point all initial material is in place, and 2/3 of the final draft is done. Now I think I'll have dinner, then collapse for the night. Ciao!

2116 - The paper is complete and submitted. The little dog is exhausting. We're still playing dominance games, and need more than native guidance. Marcia picked up Victoria Stilwell's book on the subject - plenty to learn. In other news, I'm on call, so I think I'll call it a night. Ciao!

2127 - New dogs are tiring. So are spring days that yield lawns needing mowing. Whew. Ham, garlic mashed 'tatoes, broccoli, Easter bread, and chocolate ice cream for supper tonight: Marcia, Linda and myself ... observed by a couple of insanely jealous dogs. And agan, no iPad here.
Our condolences to the families and units of the fallen.

Visit the rest of the DAYNOTES GANG, a collection of bright minds and sharp wits. Really, I don't know why they tolerate me <grin>. My personal inspiration for these pages is Dr. Jerry Pournelle. I am also indebted to Bob Thompson and Tom Syroid for their patience, guidance and feedback. Of course, I am sustained by and beholden to my lovely wife, Marcia. You can find her online too, at http://www.dutchgirl.net/. Thanks for dropping by.
