2257 - There's plenty going on in the world, just hasn't been much time to talk about it here. The big news of the day is that we've got Lexi started on her heartworm treatments. I dropped her off this morning at the vets. They gave her Heartgard, and kept her under observation all day. When treating for heartworm, there's a possibility of Anaphylaxis as a result of the large amounts of dying parasites in her blood stream. All went well, today. In a couple of weeks, we'll drop her off for the first of two injections to kill the worms actually embedded in her heart muscle. That's rougher, and they normally keep her for two days. Then we wait a few weeks, and do it all over again. Then we keep her on Heartgard for the rest of her days. That's no hardship, we have done that for all our dogs.
Power out and back three times, big storm rolling through. Dinner done, coffee roasted. Time to call it a night. Ciao!

2057 - Time enough to sleep when I'm dead. Busy, busy days just past. Friday: work and schoolwork. Saturday: work, yardwork (lawn and garden), and a company party at Toby's Dinner Theatre in Columbia, where much fun was had. Today: Shopping and painting. One room is fully primed now, and the other is halfway there, maybe four hours remaining. V.tired, though. Still in focus, though. Once this post is up, I'll format and post Jerry's column for the month. So I'd best be about that, right after this...
Our condolences to the families and units of the fallen.

Visit the rest of the DAYNOTES GANG, a collection of bright minds and sharp wits. Really, I don't know why they tolerate me <grin>. My personal inspiration for these pages is Dr. Jerry Pournelle. I am also indebted to Bob Thompson and Tom Syroid for their patience, guidance and feedback. Of course, I am sustained by and beholden to my lovely wife, Marcia. You can find her online too, at http://www.dutchgirl.net/. Thanks for dropping by.
