2134 - Well. Yesterday's dance card was full. All the normal stuff and a plus-size mailbag from Pournelle to format and post. Not an erg of steam left when all that was done. Lexi continues on the mend, but Marcia's pain is ratchetting up, as she's required to do without her normal meds during the run-up to knee surgery on Friday. Marcia was still at her pre-op conference with the orthopedist late this afternoon, so I got home, grabbed Molly, and headed back towards my office, just a couple of miles over at the veterinary hospital. Molly needs bloodwork done to see if the Rimadyl, which is helping her hips, is hurting her liver too much. We should know that tomorrow sometime. The balance of this evening has been a washout. I'm unwound, but not much is accomplished. The painting needs to get done, still, so I can lay flooring, right soon. But, there you are, life's too short. Ciao!

1120 - Whew! Still freaking tired, thanks for asking. Work and studying were work and studying this week. Then a little sleep and an early rise (0500) on Friday for Marcia's knee surgery. That turned out to be more involved than just trimming a torn meniscus. The doc did bone work, too. So there's more pain, and we've had other complications as well.
Saturday morning, after not much sleep again, I went for my CMIT final - that took 25 minutes, since I either knew the material or I didn't. I did not ace this final. We'll see what the grade for the class comes out to be, fingers crossed. Then I spent the morning playing vomit nurse, and the afternoon sitting with Marcia in the ER, waiting for them to give her a scrip for an anti-emetic. Back home by 6 PM, and more cooking and nursing all evening. Things seem to be stable this morning, but Marcia already knows that she'll take the extra day on Monday, then "return to work" on Tuesday.
I'll be back later... much as I'd like to relax, I need to do some work in the front yard. And, eeek, it's going to be mid-to-high 80's today.
Back as promised. No energy, but no excuses offered or needed: Our condolences to the families and units of the fallen warriors listed below.

Visit the rest of the DAYNOTES GANG, a collection of bright minds and sharp wits. Really, I don't know why they tolerate me <grin>. My personal inspiration for these pages is Dr. Jerry Pournelle. I am also indebted to Bob Thompson and Tom Syroid for their patience, guidance and feedback. Of course, I am sustained by and beholden to my lovely wife, Marcia. You can find her online too, at http://www.dutchgirl.net/. Thanks for dropping by.
