2107 - How do I describe 52 or so hours of DIY labor over the last five days? Hmmm.
Saturday was painting day. The Behr paint (light blue) coated the guest room walls in one pass. The Glidden (something like a sage green) required two coats, but dried faster. About the same amount of paint used. So, points to Behr for less work needed. I need to remember that.
Sunday I went shopping in the morning, then went back through both rooms and cut in and/or rolled out all the bare-ish patches. Then it was time to clean up from painting and setup for flooring. However, since I had been working for about 14 hours on Saturday, I bailed out early, and didn't get fully rolling on the flooring prep until Monday morning.
Monday the flooring effort begins. Heavy roofing felt stapled down through both rooms. But I didn't have enough, so it was time to head to Home Depot and pick up another roll of that, along with renting the pneumatic nailer for the flooring. By the time I was actually ready to start flooring, it was past 1300. Sigh. I ran out of steam at 2000, after a 12 hour day. Only one room mostly floored - the closet remained to be laid.
Tuesday was flooring day two. Oh, yeah... the flooring is bamboo, "Toast" colored (heating caramelizes something in the stalks, IIRC) purchased from Home Depot online, and 16 boxes delivered a long time ago by UPS. So I finished up the closet in the front room, and then started laying the guest room floor. That finished up at around 2000 again last night, so the four day total hours stood at 44.
Today, I returned the flooring nailer, picked up shoe molding, cleaned up enough to work with that, and got all of that installed. I re-hung the doors, and cleaned up quite a bit of stuff, and managed to wrap up in 10 hours. Whew.
Now, instead of insurmountable, there's merely a punch list of items that can be done on one hard day, or two easy ones. I think I'll opt for the latter. More pix when everything's done. Ciao!

2208 - Almost done. Floors, walls, and windows cleaned. Closet systems installed. Most of the big furniture is in place. New floor registers in place. Doors tuned so that they close again (paint changes things). The latter required both door trimming (yay for the new power planer) and hinge pocket adjustments (yay for sharp hand chisels). The mattress and the dresser have to make the trip, need to figure out lighting, and a couple of side tables, and perhaps a chair and an occasional table. I'm going to leave the plumbing for another time, in the not too distant future. Tired now, ciao!

0839 - The remodel is effectively done. Stuff needs to go back in the closets, art on the walls, etc. What I want to do today, after 7 long days working on that, and especially after the mutts allowed me a less-than-generous six hours of sleep last night, is to alternate between resting and sleeping for the entire day. What I'm going to do is yardwork, though. I'd best get to it before my determination fades. L8R.

2035 - Yesterday, all the lawns appropriately edged, trimmed, and mowed. I also turned two of the garden beds. Oh, I also roasted the last of the older coffee. With luck, the latest order from Sweet Maria's awaits me at work, tomorrow. Today, shopping and some house cleaning. Tired and ready to get back to work.
Our condolences to the families and units of the fallen:
