1844 - Still depressurizing, more's the pity. And still no grade from my CMIT course, since the final isn't in the instructor's hands yet, even though I took it more than two weeks ago. Sigh. And now, some phrases or concepts that need further development: Woodsith - A magazine about the dark side of carpentry? Assault Pomeranian - Huh? I seriously don't know why that came up, nor what to do with it. Now, to read my current Woodsmith magazine. Ciao!

0807 - Good morning. Yesterday went by in a whirl. Busy at work testing a storage system. Busy at home roasting coffee and playing Portal. Still no sign of that last grade for the current school session, either. This weekend, it's all about the gardens, I hope, anticipated rain permitting. Back later, as events unfold.

1750 - Yesterday was about two things: Yardwork, and Mass Effect 2. One was productive and useful, and one was just fun. The yardwork encompassed trimming hedges, mowing lawns, rototilling five of the garden boxes, and a bit more. A partial result (after today's trip to the nursery and some planting work) can be viewed at my new Picasa page, in the Bilbrey Garden May 2010 album. Why Picasa? Frankly, it's easier than managing tables, captions, links, etc. here on this site. Why not Flickr? Um, because I can NEVER seem to keep track of my Yahoo! identity. I think it's some form of compulsion. I've had shedloads of Yahoo IDs over the years, and I *KNOW* I document them, but still... Sigh. Not much else to report, I think. But there's still the duty.

Eleven more fine folks gave their lives on our behalf. Our condolences to the families and units of the fallen.

• Petty Officer Zarian Wood, 29, of Houston, Texas, died May 16 in Helmand Province, Afghanistan, of wounds sustained from an improvised explosive device blast while on dismounted patrol.
• Cpl. Nicholas D. Paradarodriguez, 29, of Stafford, Virginia, died May 16 while supporting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan.
• Staff Sgt. Adam L. Perkins, 27, of Antelope, California, died May 17 while supporting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan.
• Col. John M. McHugh, 46, of New Jersey, died May 18 in Kabul, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when enemy forces attacked his convoy with a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device.
• Lt. Col. Paul R. Bartz, 43, of Waterloo, Wisconsin, died May 18 in Kabul, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when enemy forces attacked his convoy with a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device.
• Lt. Col. Thomas P. Belkofer, 44, of Perrysburg, Ohio, died May 18 in Kabul, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when enemy forces attacked his convoy with a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device.
• Staff Sgt. Richard J. Tieman, 28, of Waynesboro, Pennsylvania, died May 18 in Kabul, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when enemy forces attacked his convoy with a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device.
• Spc. Joshua A. Tomlinson, 24, of Dubberly, Louisiana, died May 18 in Kabul, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when enemy forces attacked his convoy with a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device.
• Lance Cpl. Patrick Xavier Jr., 24, of Pembroke Pines, Florida, died May 18 while supporting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan.
• Staff Sgt. Shane S. Barnard, 38, of Desmet, South Dakota, died May 19 in Zabul Province, Afghanistan, of wounds sustained when he stepped on a secondary improvised explosive device.
• Pfc. Billy G. Anderson, 20, of Alexandria, Tennessee, died May 17, in Badghis province Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when insurgents attacked his unit with improvised explosive devices.
