2230 - Time flies like a styrofoam brick sinks into molasses. Or, maybe not. But things keep getting done, so that's a good thing. Tonight we were picking up before the cleaning crew shows up tomorrow. Yeah, cleaning for the cleaners. We got behind enough during the remodeling, and now I'm into summer yard mode, so we contracted for the cleaners we use to come in and get us caught up. It's easier to keep up with the cleaning once a deep clean's been done, so that's what we're doing.
Yep, I saw most of the pretty pictures of the new iPhone from the Steve's keynote on Monday. My contract with AT&T is up in July. And as shiny as the new toy is, I'm thinking hard about going towards the next HTC w/hardware keyboard, on Verizon. Or maybe the Incredible, without the keyboard. The iPhone keeps me tied to iTunes, too, which leaves me with two distinct music repositories. Anyway, something to think about. Mostly, for me, it's about the network, and AT&T's sorta suxors, here and at the office. Some days good, some days marginal, some days just not there. Yeah, really - not working at all. Anyway, that's a decision for another day. Time to rest, Ciao!

First tomato of 2010 |
2054 - There are those who thought I was joking when I said that I already had a nearly ripe tomato. So there it is. Last night, I stripped almost everything off the snow peas. But a couple of cooler days have reinvigorated the plants - I've got more sets happening, which is good. The full shopping bag of snow peas went in about 15 minutes at work.
The cleaning folk were here today, and did their usual stellar job. We use a service called Corner To Corner. Not with any regularity, since I can often keep up with the cleaning myself. But when we need help, they're quick to schedule, hard workers who do a fine job. Highly recommended!
Now, time to unwind before collapsing into bed. Ciao!

2102 - Busy days at the end of the week, and I woke to a quickly attacking headcold this morning. Got stuff done, but not nearly what I wanted. Argh! Zicam to keep the cold in my head, and Theraflu to knock down the symptoms. How do I know? I have half a gallon of yummy Dutch Farmers Market chocolate ice cream in the freezer, and no real desire. Scary, for true. Ciao!

2129 - Other than shopping, a day of rest and recovery. Feeling better-ish, but could tip back the other way. Nothing else new to report... except that the chocolate ice cream is über-yümmy!
While I regard this weekly list almost as my duty, to honor our fallen warriors, I cannot claim that it doesn't make me sad, as well as proud and honored. Especially weeks like this, where the number of the fallen is so high. Take a moment, if you will, to regard these losses as our own, because they are: today and every day. Our condolences to the families and units of the fallen.

Visit the rest of the DAYNOTES GANG, a collection of bright minds and sharp wits. Really, I don't know why they tolerate me <grin>. My personal inspiration for these pages is Dr. Jerry Pournelle. I am also indebted to Bob Thompson and Tom Syroid for their patience, guidance and feedback. Of course, I am sustained by and beholden to my lovely wife, Marcia. You can find her online too, at http://www.dutchgirl.net/. Thanks for dropping by.
