2155 - It snowing, and we're rapidly approaching 1/11/11-11:11 PM. It's not quite as synchronous if I were to write 1/11/11-23:11, eh? So we may have already had our lucky break for the day. And from the looks of the radar, there's only about another hour of snow before that's over for the night, too. But the weather thing says that more is coming, about 4 hours out. So who knows what we'll wake up to. I'm guessing ... shovel time! A deep backup of Harmony the Mac is clicking away behind me, and I want that to finish so's I can call it a night. Ciao!

2152 - I had intentions of writing something and posting it last night, but the time ran away from me. I've been working (slightly) shorter days, in advance of a Satur-day-long project in the office, day after tomorrow. By slightly, I mean 7-7.5 hours, instead of 9 or so. But home, dog, reading Chinese military classics, watching Adam Savage talk about failure... pretty soon the whole evening is gone.

I dropped my SAGE membership late last year (but retained my USENIX membership, as Usenix provides me significant value (where SAGE hasn't, so much)). I've been pondering joining LOPSA, where in their "Why Join LOPSA" section, it says, "Doctors were once barbers with knives and leeches." My initial thought is, what's wrong with knives and leeches? Sure, MRIs and cardiac stents have their places, but you can't go wrong with knives and leeches. Now, time to read for pleasure, for a short while. Ciao!

2110 - I took the evening off, as far as the elliptical goes. Supper, a couple of Mythbusters episodes off the DVR, some light reading. That pretty much covers the evening. Tomorrow, go-live with some new gear integrating with some old gear, so I'll be at work all day. Ciao!

2059 - No "exercise" today, but 5-6 hours of house cleaning qualifies, in my book. That's what I did, after the shopping. Tonight, we had chicken stir fry. Yum! Tired now. Ciao!

Argh. I'm posting this back in on Monday evening. Argh.

Our condolences to the families and units of these fallen warriors:

Visit the rest of the DAYNOTES GANG, a collection of bright minds and sharp wits. Really, I don't know why they tolerate me <grin>. My personal inspiration for these pages is Dr. Jerry Pournelle. I am also indebted to Bob Thompson and Tom Syroid for their patience, guidance and feedback. Of course, I am sustained by and beholden to my lovely wife, Marcia. You can find her online too, at http://www.dutchgirl.net/. Thanks for dropping by.
