2226 - I got thrown off my calendar by working a full day at the office on Saturday, followed by a two-day weekend of Sunday and holiday Monday. That's my only explanation for why I didn't post my usual full Sunday post last night. That's been remediated - I back-posted into yesterday for the purpose.

In another episode of "Government makes Brian angry", we find Brian getting angry about NASA selling thermal shield tile sections (small sections, 1.33 square inches in an equilateral triangle) that have been to space. Selling them to schools. Bastards. Sorry, but my tax dollars paid for those tiles already. Just give them to the freaking schools, already. Don't make taxpayers pay twice for stuff. Seriously.

Back to work, tomorrow, and also the new school semester starts in earnest for me, as well. I put in a couple of hours this evening on my History 202 class: Principles of War, taught by the Marine Corps Chief Historian, Dr. Charles Neimeyer. I'm looking forward to this. If I get any ASW tips (Anti-Santa Warfare), I'll be sure to pass them along to Bob in plenty of time for acquisition and emplacement before the next Santa pass.

Now, time to retire. 0545 seems to get a little earlier each passing year. Ciao!

2203 - Welcome to the jungle. Or in my case, the busy, busy place. Work and school and work. No time for much else. I'm "caught up" on school, but for one chapter to read. And dinner. Mustn't forget that. Last night: roasting and reading and 2.5 hours of remote work at the office. I wrapped up at about 2245. Tonight, helping Marcia organize some stuff and taking care of the mutt eats the evening. What am I reading? Makers of Modern Strategy from Machiavelli to the Nuclear Age. Ciao!

2147 - Not the best of weekends, really. Friday, in the evening, I became ill - afflicted by a bad can of soup. Bad can, no cookie! Saturday was pretty much recovering from that. While I wasn't still ill, I sure didn't feel good. Today was better. Work for about three hours, shopping, reading for school, a bit of TV. Should be fine to hit the ground running tomorrow.

Our condolences to the families and units of these fallen warriors:

Visit the rest of the DAYNOTES GANG, a collection of bright minds and sharp wits. Really, I don't know why they tolerate me <grin>. My personal inspiration for these pages is Dr. Jerry Pournelle. I am also indebted to Bob Thompson and Tom Syroid for their patience, guidance and feedback. Of course, I am sustained by and beholden to my lovely wife, Marcia. You can find her online too, at http://www.dutchgirl.net/. Thanks for dropping by.
