2128 - An eighth of an inch of ice, followed by an inch of snow last night, here. The inches ramped up, the further north and south, apparently. It was a treacherous commute this morning - the only saving grace was that not many people were attempting it. Several school districts closed, others went to 2 hour delayed openings. Tonight, Marcia made some delicious dinner thing with chicken sausage, navy beans, tomatoes, onion, garlic, and other secret ingredients. Yum! I've done three of the six lab sessions, and all of the class discussion for the Cisco class I'm taking. There's a new chunk of reading to do for History, a Check Point event in Baltimore on Thursday, and I go on call starting tomorrow. It's gonna be a busy week. Ciao!

2151 - On call, and whacking away at both courses. I'm caught up with the full week's work for the CCNA course, and well into the history reading: Mahan and "sea power", at the moment. And whoops, a bunch of systems that need updates. Time to get to work...

2220 - It's good to be busy. Yesterday, I built a countertop for the small sink in the basement, in the corner of the area where the bar was. Now just a small cabinet, and I reclaimed the original sink. Only now, it's set into a countertop sheathed with left-over bamboo flooring, glued and nailed to 3/4" plywood. It's not going anywhere. Today, work remote to start the day, followed by some at-the-office SAN firmware updates that needed systems down, and reboots. Fun times, I tell you.
Our condolences to the families and units of these fallen warriors:

Visit the rest of the DAYNOTES GANG, a collection of bright minds and sharp wits. Really, I don't know why they tolerate me <grin>. My personal inspiration for these pages is Dr. Jerry Pournelle. I am also indebted to Bob Thompson and Tom Syroid for their patience, guidance and feedback. Of course, I am sustained by and beholden to my lovely wife, Marcia. You can find her online too, at http://www.dutchgirl.net/. Thanks for dropping by.
