2226 - Whoa! Sorry about that. School, evening work, and a wee bit of Portal 2 have all eaten nearly every spot of spare time. The good news - I got an A in that History course. I'm very pleased about that. The other news: The last three weeks of this CCNA course are going to be outrageously busy, and (as usual), there's a paper to write. SRSLY? Yep. Every class now has a paper. I'll bet that programming classes have papers. Heightened awareness gender-neutral politically correct issues in programming, for example. Gah! Now, to finish whatever I was working on moments ago... Ciao!

2131 - Slightly less busy, since it's my birthday. I did the shopping, mowed both lawns, and got a bunch of schoolwork done. So, that's celebrating! w00t! Tonight was pizza, chocolate cake, and chocolate ice cream. Yum! I have some yard pictures, too, but haven't gotten them off the camera yet. And I have a bit of remote systems work to do tonight for work, so that's about it, other than my self-imposed duty ...

I was hoping for no casualties to report this week. That ... that would have made my day special. But instead, it seems to have been a really crappy week, especially that cowardly grenade attack by someone who was pretending to be on "our side". Sigh. Our condolences to the families and units of these fallen warriors.

• Spc. Paul J. Atim, 27, of Green Bay, Wisconsin, died of wounds suffered April 16, in Nimroz province, Afghanistan when insurgents attacked his unit with an improvised explosive device.
• Spc. Charles J. Wren, 25, of Beeville, Texas, died of wounds suffered April 16, in Nimroz province, Afghanistan when insurgents attacked his unit with an improvised explosive device.
• Pfc. Joel A. Ramirez, 22, of Waxahachie, Texas, died of wounds suffered April 16, in Nimroz province, Afghanistan when insurgents attacked his unit with an improvised explosive device.
• Capt. Charles E. Ridgley Jr., 40, of Baltimore, Maryland, died April 16, at Forward Operating Base Gamberi, Nangarhar province, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when an Afghan National Army soldier attacked with multiple grenades.
• Sgt. 1st Class Charles L. Adkins, 36, of Sandusky, Ohio, died April 16, at Forward Operating Base Gamberi, Nangarhar province, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when an Afghan National Army soldier attacked with multiple grenades.
• Staff Sgt. Cynthia R. Taylor, 39, of Columbus, Georgia, died April 16, at Forward Operating Base Gamberi, Nangarhar province, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when an Afghan National Army soldier attacked with multiple grenades.
• Sgt. Linda L. Pierre, 28, Immokalee, Florida, died April 16, at Forward Operating Base Gamberi, Nangarhar province, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when an Afghan National Army soldier attacked with multiple grenades.
• Spc. Joseph B. Cemper, 21, Warrensburg, Missouri, died April 16, at Forward Operating Base Gamberi, Nangarhar province, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when an Afghan National Army soldier attacked with multiple grenades.
• Petty Officer 3rd Class Micah Aaron Hill, 27, of Ralston, Nebraska, died April 19 as a result of a non-combat related incident.
• Pfc. John F. Kihm, 19, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, died April 19 in Kandahar province, Afghanistan.
• Sgt. Sonny J. Moses, 22, of Koror, Palau, died April 18 in Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, Landstuhl, Germany, of wounds suffered as a result of a grenade attack at Forward Operating Base Gamberi, Nangarhar province, Afghanistan, April 16.
• Sgt. John P. Castro, 25, of Andrews, Texas died April 22 at Paktika province, Afghanistan of wounds suffered when his unit was attacked by small arms fire.
• 1st Lt. Omar J. Vazquez, 25, of Hamilton, New Jersey, died of wounds suffered April 22, in Numaniyah, Iraq when insurgents attacked his unit with an improvised explosive device.
• Pfc. Antonio G. Stiggins, 25, of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, died of wounds suffered April 22, in Numaniyah, Iraq when insurgents attacked his unit with an improvised explosive device.
• Staff Sgt. James, A. Justice, 32, of Grimes, Iowa died April 23 at Kapisa province, Afghanistan of wounds suffered when insurgents attacked his unit with small arms fire.
