2145 - Yesterday, chores. Today, chores. Tomorrow, schoolwork. Thereafter, visiting family for the next couple of weeks. Gonna be sparse around here, unless I'm much better at time-slicing than usual. It got to nearly 90 today here, so I had to get out and water in my new plantings. Eventually I'll put in a full front system, but not this year. Ciao!

1302 - Hey. Sorry about that, I've been super-busy. My sister and her family are in town, and we've been doing lots of stuff with them. Yesterday: Annapolis, including a harbor/Severn River tour, the Naval Academy, the State House, and much more. Very tiring, tell the truth, but great pleasure in having them here and spending time with them all.

We already have 2.4 inches of rain here in June, and depending on thunderstorms, it could end up a huge month. However, the jetstream track that brought us so much weather over the last five weeks appears to have shifted, finally.

Holy cow! A very bad week, reminiscent of a couple of years back: eighteen US Service Member lives reported lost in the last seven days. Our condolences to the families and units of the fallen.

• Pvt. Thomas E. Lee, III, 20, of Dalton, Georgia, died May 29 in Mosul, Iraq, of wounds suffered when an explosive device struck his vehicle.
• Pvt. Bradley W. Iorio, 19, of Galloway, New Jersey, died May 29 at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Landstuhl, Germany, of injuries suffered from a non-combat related incident May 27 in Tallil, Iraq.
• Spc. Samuel D. Stone, 20, of Port Orchard, Washington, died May 31 in Tallil, Iraq, of injuries suffered during a non-combat related vehicle roll-over.
• Spc. Marko M. Samson, 30, of Columbus, Ohio, died May 31 in Tikrit, Iraq, of injuries suffered from a non-combat related incident.
• Lance Cpl. Matthew G. Reza, 27, of Austin, Texas, was killed May 31 as a result of a non-hostile incident in Khandahar province, Afghanistan.
• Staff Sgt. Jeffrey A. Hall, 28, of Huntsville, Alabama, died June 1 in Nerkh, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle.
• Pfc. Matthew D. Ogden, 33, of Corpus Christi, Texas, died June 1 in Nerkh, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle.
• Pfc. Matthew W. Wilson, 19, of Miller, Missouri, died June 1 in Nerkh, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle.
• Sgt. Justin J. Duffy, 31, of Cozad, Nebraska, died June 2 in Baghdad, Iraq, when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle.
• Spc. Roberto A. Hernandez I, 21, of Far Rockaway, New York, died June 2 in Paktya, Afghanistan, of wounds sustained when his mounted patrol was attacked with an improvised explosive device and small arms fire.
• Spc. Jarrett P. Griemel, 20, of La Porte, Texas, died June 3 at Forward Operating Base Gardez, Afghanistan, of injuries suffered from a non-combat related incident.
• Sgt. Jasper K. Obakrairur, 26, of Hilo, Hawaii, died June 1 in Nerkh, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle.
• Maj. Kevin M. Jenrette, 37, of Lula, Georgia, died June 4 near Kapisa, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered from an improvised explosive device and small arms fire.
• Staff Sgt. John C. Beale, 39, of Riverdale, Georgia, died June 4 near Kapisa, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered from an improvised explosive device and small arms fire.
• Spc. Jeffrey W. Jordan, 21, of Rome, Georgia, died June 4 near Kapisa, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered from an improvised explosive device and small arms fire.
• Spc. Charles D. Parrish, 23, of Jasper, Alabama, died June 4 in Balad, Iraq, of wounds suffered earlier that day in Jalula, Iraq, when his vehicle was struck by an anti-tank grenade.
• Spc. Christopher M. Kurth, 23, of Alamogordo, New Mexico, died June 4 in Kirkuk, Iraq, of wounds suffered when his vehicle was struck by an anti-tank grenade.
• Lance Cpl. Robert D. Ulmer, 22, of Landisville, Pennsylvania, died June 5 as a result of a non-hostile incident in Anbar province, Iraq.
