2146 - Tonight, working a Technical Review pass on a chapter from Building the Perfect PC, Third Edition, for Bob. And I made a mistake. I gave Molly a slurp of ice cream, not just a bit of the leavings in the bowl ... the cold shocked her stomach, and up came dinner. I feel so bad. Sigh. Ciao!

2220 - No post yesterday, but a new phone today. No, I didn't stand in line all day to get a phone yesterday. But there was still an hour's wait today, at the Columbia Apple store. It's shiny, and fast. And the display quality is bloody amazing. When I'm not wearing my glasses, even the blur is higher resolution! Tired, though, and the action figure dog needs some calming. Ciao!

2223 - Work better than half the day today. We had other plans for this evening, but they cancelled at about 5PM. Argh, for unspecified reasons involving meat. Played Half Life 2 for a while. Tired now. But first...

Another 17 men lost to the meatgrinder in Afghanistan. Are y'all paying attention, down there at 1600? Our condolences to the families and units of the fallen.

• Spc. Joseph D. Johnson, 24, of Flint, Michigan, died June 16 at North Kunduz, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when insurgents attacked his unit with an improvised explosive device.
• Pfc. Gunnar R. Hotchkin, 31, of Naperville, Illinois, died June 16 at North Kunduz, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when insurgents attacked his unit with an improvised explosive device.
• Spc. Nathan W. Cox, 27, of Fremont, Californing, died June 16 at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, Landstuhl, Germany, of injuries sustained June 14 when insurgents attacked his unit with small arms fire at Near Forward Operating Base, Khogyani, Afghanistan.
• Pfc. Benjamin J. Park, 25, of Fairfax Station, Virginia, died June 18 at Zhari district, Kandahar, Afghanistan, of injuries sustained when insurgents attacked his unit with an improvised explosive device.
• Staff Sgt. James P. Hunter, 25, of South Amherst, Ohio, died June 18 in Kandahar, Afghanistan, of injuries sustained when insurgents attacked his unit with an improvised explosive device.
• Spc. Scott A. Andrews, 21, of Fall River, Massachusetts, died June 21 at Forward Operating Base Lagman, Zabul province, Afghanistan, of injuries sustained when insurgents attacked his unit with an improvised explosive device.
• Lance Cpl. Timothy G. Serwinowski, 21, of North Tonawanda, New York, died June 21 while supporting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan.
• Spc. Jacob P. Dohrenwend, 20, of Milford, Ohio, died June 21 at Balad, Iraq, of injuries sustained from a non-combat related incident.
• 1st Sgt. Eddie Turner, 41, of Fort Belvoir, Virginia, died June 22 at Camp Clark, Afghanistan, of injuries sustained from a non-combat related incident.
• Pfc. David T. Miller, 19, of Wilton, New York died June 21 at Lar Sholtan Village, Afghanistan, from wounds suffered when a suicide bomber attacked their unit.
• Spc. Andrew R. Looney, 22, of Owasso, Oklahoma, died June 21 at Lar Sholtan Village, Afghanistan, from wounds suffered when a suicide bomber attacked their unit.
• Cpl. Claudio Patino IV, 22, of Yorba Linda, California, died June 22 while supporting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan.
• Cpl. Kevin A. Cueto, 23, of San Jose, California, died June 22 while supporting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan.
• Cpl. Joshua R. Dumaw, 23, of Spokane Valley, Washington, died June 22 while supporting combat operations in Nimruz province, Afghanistan.
• Pfc. Anthony T. Justesen, 22, of Wilsonville, Oregon, died June 23 at Ganjkin village, Pusht Rod district, Farah province, Afghanistan, of injuries sustained when insurgents attacked his unit with an improvised explosive device.
• Pfc. Russell E. Madden, 29, of Dayton, Kentucky, died June 23 at Charkh district, Konar province, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when insurgents attacked his vehicle with rocket fire
• 1st Sgt. Robert N. Barton, 35, of Roxie, Mississippi, died June 7 in Konar, Afghanistan, when insurgents attacked his vehicle with an improvised explosive device.
